Pic Pocket is a coming-of-age drama set in Chandigarh that follows Saira (15) and her uncle Suresh (40s), partners in crime who survive by running a discreet pickpocketing operation disguised as tourist photography. While Suresh photographs visitors at local attractions, Saira's warmth and innocence provide the perfect distraction, allowing them to steal unnoticed. Bound by affection and necessity, they have spent years perfecting the craft of survival.
Though hardened by circumstance, Suresh was once a photographer who loved the medium for more than a livelihood. That dormant passion still surfaces in fleeting moments, and Saira quietly inherits the same instinct of an innate curiosity for the beauty hidden in everyday life.
Their routine is disrupted when Saira discovers an old film camera among stolen belongings. Dismissing it as worthless, Suresh sends her to sell it at a photo studio. But beneath the errand lies a possibility: a chance for Saira to encounter a world beyond the one they've built together.
As she wanders through the city with the camera, Chandigarh begins to reveal itself differently. Through the viewfinder, ordinary moments acquire wonder and meaning. What begins as a task slowly becomes a journey of discovery. Instead of selling the camera, Saira spends her savings on a roll of film, choosing to keep it.
The next day, Suresh finds Saira absorbed in the camera. He smiles quietly. In a life spent stealing from the world, she has discovered the joy of capturing it.
